With the full version unlocked, the pacing feels much better once the surveillance, repairs, and evasive sections begin to overlap. None of the mechanics are particularly showy, yet checking your route before entering another part of the wreckage becomes second nature. The ruined circus has a nasty sense of confinement that only gets worse the farther you wander.
The story leaves its clues scattered among damaged machinery, debris, and strange incidents instead of spelling everything out. Encounters with the robots and Kubert make revisiting suspicious areas considerably tenser, and a few details tend to linger in your head after you put the game down.
