Tokyo feels rather different after dark. Students bound to demonic contracts are dragged into bizarre incidents, while their own grudges make teamwork harder than it should be. Comic scenes and Live2D dialogue sit alongside ghoul battles, cat-familiar collecting, rhythm challenges, and co-op play, giving the routine a decent change of pace. 3x speed is handy when grinding starts to drag.
The academy-building side keeps things from becoming relentlessly gloomy, especially once the oddball cat familiars start piling up. That contrast between occult trouble and almost ridiculous cuteness gives the whole setting its own character, with enough character drama and urban fantasy to keep the story moving.
