Pleasant Hills has the look of a forgotten eighties town, right down to its strange corners and grimy hangouts, but things quickly take a much darker turn. Across 20 distinct levels, targets, surroundings, and possible approaches keep changing, forcing players to study each setup before making a move.
There is also a detective steadily piecing together what happened behind the scenes. Leave too many clues and the pressure starts to build. Stealth, action, puzzles, and pitch-black comedy sit side by side here, with plenty of nods to old-school horror flicks and some deliberately nasty imagery.
