The pheromone gimmick works better than expected because it actually meddles with the relationships instead of sitting there as decoration. The four male routes have their own complications, and dialogue choices can push things into noticeably different territory. Court politics also gives the flirtation a slightly prickly undertone.
The premium version is already unlocked, so the usual content restrictions are out of the way. Most of the appeal lies in character exchanges and watching relationships get progressively messier. It leans toward the melodramatic side, but the darker turns keep it from becoming syrupy romance all the way through.
