Small in scale but surprisingly clever with its map design, this compact metroidvania gets a lot of mileage from shifting terrain and altered routes. Areas can feel different after a new ability changes how you read the same space, while the cat form brings a few awkward platforming moments that take some getting used to.
Combat stays simple, exploration does most of the heavy lifting, and sequence-breaking adds a welcome Metroid-style twist. The story barely registers, though Gary leaves a strange little sting behind. Sound effects are better than expected; the music is less convincing. A short, scrappy, oddly violent cat adventure with the full version already unlocked.
